“But had I approached it like scoring a drug, I would definitely have been excluded.”
He expressed surprise at being told Australia, as a Commonwealth country, has to give Wills and Kate a wedding gift.
“This could be an opportunity to issue her a real snub. You could deface one of your dollars,” he said.
“Go further than drawing a moustache on her. You could get really heavy with it.”
But Russ, who said he envies his new waxwork model at London’s Madame Tussaud’s for its 'simple life', did say that as a Brit he had been 'swept up in the pageantry' ahead of the ceremony.
