Russell Brand thinks he should get an Oscar for his performance in 'Get Him to the Greek'.
The British funnyman thinks his portrayal of fictional rocker Aldous Snow in the comedy movie is worthy of an Academy Award and if he doesn't get one he will quit making movies.
He joked in an interview with PopEater.com: "I'm hoping to get an Oscar for this. I don't want to jinx it, but there's a real Oscar buzz around the film. A lot of people have been talking about Oscars. They're saying that I might get one. Hopefully, I'll get an Oscar and if I don't get it I might not make films anymore."
Russell – who stars in the movie with Jonah Hill and P. Diddy – thinks the Academy Awards should have a category for hard work.
He quipped: "I think effort should be rewarded at the Oscars, because how are we supposed to say to kids it's the trying that counts, if then I don't get an Oscar it's going to disappoint a lot of kids... If I don't get one, I'll say, 'Hold on, I'm trying my hardest, so how about an Oscar? It's only a little thing, make me an extra one. A new category – try that.' "
