Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore's wedding lasted just eight minutes.
The 'Candy' singer and the musician organised their nuptials just hours before tying the knot on Tuesday (10.03.09) and made their vows alone with no family or friends present.
According to Steve Schulte - the pastor who married the couple - he was only called on Monday (09.03.09) and had no idea who Mandy and Ryan were.
He told People magazine: "I thought it was either somebody famous or somebody really bad. Mandy was thrilled to be getting married. She was giddy but not in a childish way. She was so happy."
Wedding planner Chad Baker - who waited outside during the service - said:
"It was so romantic. It was awesome. I just can't stress how happy they seemed."
At 2.30pm a black town car dropped the couple - who only got engaged last month - and the two men off at Whitefield Chapel in Bethesda Home for Boys, a tiny brick church in Savannah, Georgia.
Mandy, 24, wore a lacy, cream dress and flat sandals, while Ryan, 34, wore a pair of tight skinny jeans, a T-shirt and trainers.
After exchanging silver bands - which were bought from a local jewellers - the couple took a walk around the chapel where Ryan kissed his new wife.
When the pair got engaged in February, Mandy insisted she was desperate to have a low-key wedding.
She said: "I want the wedding to be less of a big deal. Hopefully, it can happen and slip by unnoticed by everybody. I guess we have to be sort of sneaky about it, but I'll see what I can accomplish."
