Ryan Gosling: `Sex scenes with Michelle Williams felt real`

The movie was originally given a NC-17 rating for the scene in the movie where Ryan goes down on Michelle and although it later got an R rating, the Hollywood star said people were just touchy about it because it was so authentic.

The 30-year-old told British newspaper The Guardian: 'The sex felt real - it wasn't sexy or 'a sex scene', and that's why we got into trouble.

'You shouldn't be penalised for doing a good job.'

Michelle, 30, recently said she was 'proud' of her oral sex scene with Gosling.

The pair have denied rumours that they are dating, although Ryan believes it was hard to stop playing their marriage off-screen.

He added: 'Most movies when you're acting you're trying to block out the lights and the trailers. Here, you had to remind yourself you were making a film.

'Michelle and I found it hard to take off our wedding bands when it was over. We'd built this castle and then had to tear it down.'
