The reason Scott Weiland finally kicked drugs: he didn't want to lose his family.

Weiland tells Esquire magazine he's been clean for a year and he credits his wife and kids for that. He says his family is the most beautiful thing in his life, more so than even music. He says he had to love them before he could love himself. Weiland admits he tried cocaine in high school and moved on to heroin by age 24. He says after his first drug arrest in 1995, he lived for a month in a Los Angeles hotel room next to Courtney Love. He says they shot drugs the whole time and Love walked around in just panties.
