Former Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland says he's reunited with the band, but Slash says he hasn't.
In a strange little pas de deux, Consequence of Sound reports that Scott Weiland said he's back in Velvet Revolver only to be publicly refuted by the band's ostensible ringleader Slash.
Firstly, Weiland told ABC News online that he had reunited with former Gunners Slash, Matt Sorum, and Duff McKagan, and guitarist Dave Kushner.
He said that they were "able to put egos and differences and old… conflicts aside and so that's really cool."
But Slash quickly noted that it was the first he'd heard of Weiland, who had been ousted in 2008, returning to Velvet Revolver.
He told Minneapolis radio station 93x, "We have no intention of going backwards".
So we're back to square one, debating whether Myles Kennedy of Alterbridge or Corey Taylor of Slipknot is going to be the one to sing on their forthcoming third album.
