One of the UK's most exciting hip-hop artists, Scroobius Pip is a master of the spoken word lyric. Now, coinciding with the release of his second album with producer dan le sac, the lyricist presents Poetry in (e)motion [Titan Books, 26 March 2010, £9.99], an inspired illustrated book, created in collaboration with some of his most talented fans.
Scroobius Pip set a challenge to his fans: to create their own visual representations of his tracks, incorporating his pioneering lyrics. The colossal response presented Pip with an astounding array of artwork, and this collection brings together some of the finest as an innovative collection of modern poetry.
From rough and ready illustrations to slick graphic design, full comic strips to one-off art pieces, more than a dozen selected artists present their own little pieces of Pip, based on tracks including 1000 Words, When I Grow Up, Rat Race and Thou Shalt Always Kill.
