Seth Lakeman plays free show and meets fans at HMV's flagship Oxford Street store
Singer-songwriter Seth Lakeman, the leading light on the burgeoning UK folk scene, celebrates the release of his eagerly anticipated album 'Poor Man's Heaven' with a free show and signing session at HMV's flagship store on Oxford Street in London's West End on Tuesday 1st July.
Showtime starts at 6.00 pm after which the 2005 Nationwide Mercury Prize nominated Seth will remain in the store to meet fans and sign copies of the new record which is released the previous day, Monday 30th June on Relentless.
Poor Man's Heaven (the follow up to 2006's critically acclaimed, gold selling 'Freedom Fields') perfectly captures the raw, rhythmic energy of Seth's live shows.
Produced in large part by his brother and fellow band member, Sean Lakeman, 'Poor Man's Heaven' represents a progression for Seth's sound – while remaining firmly rooted in folk, it moves from a more acoustic-based feel to a fuller, rockier sound, underpinned as ever by emotive lyrics and story telling, this time with a strong coastal theme.
