Shania Twain had a "panic attack" when she confronted the woman her husband had an affair with.
The 'You're still The One' hitmaker was devastated when she discovered music producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange had cheated on her with her best friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud and admits she felt like a "wimp" after being overwhelmed when she saw her former pal for the first time after the revelations had came to light.
Shania recalled: "I had a total panic attack. I just told her that she was a bad person – that's all I could get out!"
"When I left her, I thought to myself 'You're such a wimp, you coward.' That was my big moment, and I blew it."
After ending her 14-year marriage in 2008, Shania went on to find love with Marie-Anne's ex-husband Frederic Thiebaud - who she married in Puerto Rico on New Year's Day (01.01.11) – and the singer is delighted with her latest union.
She told People magazine: "Fred has given me a second lease on love."
Shania recently revealed she wrote a letter to Marie-Anne following the end of her marriage, begging her former friend to find love with someone else.
She wrote: "Why are you torturing me? Let it go, please. Find love somewhere else from someone else."
Speaking of the letter, she said: "I know it was pathetic. But we all have pathetic moments. No one is above this type of low."
