Shania Twain is engaged, according to reports

The 45-year-old Canadian singer said ‘yes’ after beau Frederic Thiebaud popped the question two months ago in his native Switzerland, it is claimed.

Her rep has apparently confirmed the happy news to US Weekly magazine, which hits newsstands on Tuesday.

The couple's road to matrimony has been a rocky one - Twain’s ex-husband Robert “Mutt” Lange allegedly had an affair with Twain’s former best friend and Thiebaud’s ex-wife, Marie-Anne Thiebaud – and bizarrely they ended up swapping partners.

Both Lange and Marie-Anne subsequently denied the affair.

In the wake of the alleged double betrayal, Twain and Frederic reached out to each other, bonding over their mutual heartbreak and ultimately falling in love.

The lovebirds stepped out together in New York last week, with Twain reportedly showing off an enormous engagement ring.

'I've never seen Shania so happy,' a pal told the magazine. 'She's ended up with the love of her life.'
