Shania Twain is to appear on 'American Idol'.
The country singer has signed up to be a guest judge on the US singing contest, filling Paula Abdul's vacated spot on the judging panel on August 30 and 31.
She will join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for auditions in Chicago, but is not expected to stay on for more episodes.
Paula quit the show over an alleged pay dispute. Since she left, her place on the panel has been filled by former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, hip-hop artist Mary J. Blige and 'I Kissed a Girl' singer Katy Perry.
Jessica Simpson had also been mentioned as a possible replacement for Paula, but her father-and-manager Joe insists she will not be appearing on the programme.
Writing on his Twitter account, Joe said: "So, I am in thailand… But, of course, the post says I am in town trying to get Jessica to be the replacement for paula abdul…. Do the lies ever stop???? (sic)"
