Shayne Ward feared for his life on a flight home from China, after a series of safety alarms were raised.
The British singer - who had spent 10 days in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing promoting his latest album 'Breathless' - was due to return to the UK last Friday (18.01.08) but after switching flights to land in his hometown of Manchester his plane was plagued by problems. Shayne - who was already dreading the trip home following the crash-landing of a British Airways jet at London's Heathrow Airport 24 hours earlier - began to panic after the aircraft was checked for an unknown 'fault' for three-and-a-half hours.
A source said: "Firstly the plane was moved from gate nine to 13 and then kept on the runway for hours while engineers checked a 'fault' before refuelling." Although the flight went smoothly, Shayne suffered further misery when his baggage was lost.
The 'No U Hang Up' singer had to spend three days in the same clothes while he visited his mother, but luckily his suitcases have now been returned.
