British electro duo Simian Mobile Disco reveal details of their new full-length studio album Unpatterns.
Jas Shaw and James Ford teamed up as Simian Mobile Disco in 2005, working on scores of remixes for UK indie artists and getting hip guests for their own tracks.
They most notably broke through with 'Audacity Of Huge', featuring Chris Keating of Yeasayer, in 2009.
But the duo say they have stepped away from calling in collaborators for their new album, Unpatterns, and are resisting pop and club sounds for a more prog and psychedelic direction.
A press release promises "abstracted, spaced out" vocals "woven into the fabric of the synthetic sound", likening them to "broken hearted robots", a "cyborg Chicago house singer" and "alien choirs". Sounds intriguing.
Unpatterns will be released on May 18. Check out the tracklisting below.
