Simon & Garfunkel drop film from UK shows

Film of memorable images from America's recent history may be dropped from Simon and Garfunkel's upcoming UK tour.

Paul Simon says, "It's not a political statement. It's a geographic reality."

Art Garfunkel said, "It's what an artist does when he feels the name of his country speaks too loudly and too provocatively (that) it pushes the music aside."

The film will be either changed or dropped from the duo's European tour which begins at the Manchester Evening News Arena on July 14.

Simon has also hinted that the tour maybe the last the pair do together.

He said: "I think this is a good example of the music that we made and I don't really see any powerful reason to do it again because we did it. It's not a Sherman-esque declaration. It's just how I feel."

Simon and Garfunkel also play Hyde Park on July 15 on the tour which is the duo's first European tour together in more than two decades. They begin the second leg of their US tour on Thursday (10JUN) in Albany, New York.
