SIMPLY RED have filed a lawsuit against EMI Records over the sale and distribution of their Greatest Hits album.
Singer Mick Hucknall and his associated are reportedly claiming that EMI gave more than 50,000 copies of the LP to a company called Entertainment UK Ltd.
According to reports in the Sun newspaper, Hucknall is demanding £300,000 in cash owed and damages after the company went into administration shortly after the exchange.
Hucknall earlier said the band will split after 25 years following a farewell tour in 2009.
