It appears Sinead O'Connor's latest rant could cost her quite a bit of money.
Monday, O'Connor returned to Facebook after a month off and made a number of serious accusations against actor and former talk show host Arsenio Hall in reference to the late Prince:
Two words for the DEA investigating where prince got his drugs over the decades.... Arsenio Hall (AKA Prince's and Eddie Murphy's bitch) Anyone imagining prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land. Arsenio I've reported you to the Carver County Sherrif's office. Expect their call. They are aware you spiked me years ago at Eddie murphy's house. You best get tidying your man cave.
Hall, understandably, didn't take kindly to the comments and, earlier today, filed a $5 million defamation lawsuit against the singer in a Los Angeles court.
As part of the filing, Hall said he had not seen O'Connor in 25 years and that Sinead had said, herself, that she had only met Prince a couple of times. Along with saying that O'Connor is an attention seeker that is "now known perhaps as much for her bizarre, unhinged internet rants as for her music."
The suit also states that "Ever since O'Connor posed her malicious and reckless lies about Hall on her 'OFFICIAL Facebook page' (where they have been commented on and forwarded thousands of times), her brazen lies have spread like wildfire across the media throughout the United States and the world..."
