Smashing Pumpkins have revealed a previously unreleased version of 'Ava Adore' remixed by Puff Daddy, 16 years after it was originally made. Check it out below.
The somewhat unexpected remix has surfaced after it was announced Smashing Pumpkins' seminal album Adore would be reissued later this year, with a gargantuan boxset on the way from Virgin Records.
Spread over seven disks, the reissue will feature remasters of the album both in mono and stereo, as well as 90 bonus tracks including the aforementioned Puff Daddy remix.
Puff's reworking takes things back to basics, leaving only Corgans signature vocals intact whilst throwing luscious strings and a crisp, snappy backbeat.
Frontman Billy Corgan made headlines last month after posting a lengthy blog rant about Amazon revealing the details of the Adore boxset before he could himself, the singer went on to slate the music industry as a whole.
Nevertheless, Smashing Pumpkins' full Adore reissue is out September 23rd on Virgin/UME.
