Smokey Robinson: The Houstons are struggling

Smokey Robinson says Cissy Houston is "struggling" over Bobbi Kristina Brown.

The 74-year-old music legend has been good friends with the Houston family for years and he is sad over the current condition of Bobbi Kristina, who's been in a medically induced coma for over a week after being found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Roswell, Georgia home.

And Smokey claims 81-year-old family matriarch Cissy, who lost her daughter Whitney Houston in 2012, is absolutely grief-stricken over her granddaughter Bobbi Kristina's declining health.

"She's out of it," Smokey told ET Online of Cissy. "She's really struggling with all of this. It's such a tragic situation."

Cissy flew in from New Jersey last Thursday to support her ailing granddaughter at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Once at the medical facility, Cissy is said to have spent "the entire night in Bobbi's room", a source told Us Weekly magazine.

People previously reported the Houston family are hosting a public vigil for Bobbi Kristina on Monday night in Atlanta. The candlelight vigil, entitled Shining a Light for Healing, is taking place at Riverdale Town Center in Riverdale, Georgia, which is located just outside of Atlanta.

Bobbi Kristina has been on life support since January 31 and apparently her entire family are wishing some type of divine intervention will get her conscious again.

"There has been no change," an alleged family member told People. "We are hoping that God will see fit to perform a miracle in her, so that he will get the glory."

A criminal investigation has been launched into Bobbi Kristina's drowning, according to CNN. And it's claimed Bobbi Kristina's boyfriend Nick Gordon is at the centre of the police inquiry.

"Foul play is being investigated," a source told People magazine. "Including drug use and possibly cover up to remove evidence from the crime scene."

Bobbi Kristina's mother Whitney was found unconscious in a bathtub just before the Grammy Awards in 2012, and was later pronounced dead by "accidental drowning".
