Sneaky Sound System released their debut UK single 'Pictures' in July through 14th Floor Records and have now announced shows at Manchester Club Academy, Birmingham Bar Academy and London Koko.
Sneaky Sound System are the biggest band to come out of the dance music scene that's conquering Australia, boasting a self-released debut album which has gone twice platinum, four hugely successful singles and loads of sold out tours. Their second album has just gone Gold in Australia.
The band was born out of a club night, 'Sneaky Sundays', hosted in Sydney by Black Angus (Angus McDonald) and MC Double D (Daimon Downey). With its strict "no shoe-gazing, no wallflowers" policy it quickly attracted high-profile guests including Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem and Tiga, and still packs in up to 1000 people every week.
After releasing a successful mix CD, Angus and Daimon began working on their own tracks and recruited singer Miss Connie (Connie Mitchell) to record vocals for the irresistibly danceable pop tunes that would form their debut album. Connie quickly became a full fledged member of Sneaky Sound System, and has also worked with both Snoop Dogg and Kanye West (contributing vocals to the track 'Stronger').
Their debut UK album will be released in September 2008 and they recently supported Sam Sparro on his UK Tour.
