Snow Patrol attracted the biggest mainstage crowd of the weekend at V in Chelmsford - provoking an emotional reaction from frontman Gary Lightbody.
The star said today (August 22) after the crowd had helped him finish sing their mammoth hit 'Run': "That was absolutely amazing. Thank you. We'll remember that for the rest of our lives."
After the show in Stafford yesterday, he commented to NME.COM about the anthem of the summer: “A lot of people maybe think it's quite a sad song and it's meant to be full of hope and when people appreciate it as much as that it really brings home the actual meaning of it, and it really touched me today how much they got into it.â€
The crowd for the band during their early afternoon slot at Chelmsford today dwarfed that of co-headliners Muse and Dido yesterday evening, though judging by the T-shirts being worn by festival goers, the performance of the Pixies later is also eagerly awaited.
