Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil has suggested that the band may record a new album.
Thayil said he couldn’t confirm anything but that it was “very likely” the Chris Cornell-fronted grunge group would work on new tracks.
Soundgarden played their first gig in twelve years in their original line-up in April.
"I'm not confirming anything,” Thayil told Toronto radio station CFNY-FM, “but it's impossible for us to get in a room and not come up with ideas.
"It's very likely in the future, perhaps sooner than later, we'll get together and de-emphasise the rehearsing part and emphasise the jamming part."
Soundgarden's last studio album ’Down On The Upside’ was released in 1996. The band released the retropsecitve ‘Telephantasm' in September.
