A new documentary about Stephen Duffy and The Lilac Time is to receive its world premiere at the world renowned Raindance Film Festival on October 9th in London.
The film, entitled 'Memory & Desire: 30 Years In The Wilderness with Stephen Duffy and The Lilac Time', covers the early years of Stephen's career as alter ego 'Tin Tin', his dissatisfaction with pop, pop's dissatisfaction with him through to the formation and after touring the world with Britain' s most popular solo artist, the reformation of The Lilac Time to perform at the prestigious Green Man Festival.
The documentary features Duffy collaborators including his brother Nick, Stephen's wife and long term musical partner Claire Duffy (nee Worrall) and Duran Duran founder member Nick Rhodes who with Stephen was one half of The Devils, their 'Dark Circles' album released in 2002 comprised a collection of songs that the pair had written during their late teens in Birmingham.
Travelling to Duffy's home in Falmouth via The Malvern Hills, Dartmouth Park and The Brecon Beacons, the film is a celebration of the ups and downs (to borrow an early album title) of one of Britain's most beloved songwriters.
