There was a 17 year gap between Steve Miller's 1993 album Wide River and last years Bingo!, but the music bug must have bit him hard because he's back on April 19 with a brand new studio album, Let Your Hair Down.
The album features the last recordings with one of Miller's closest musical friends, harmonica virtuoso Norton Buffalo, with whom he's worked for 33 years. Also returning from Bingo! is cover artist Storm Thorgerson who has created another whimsical cover.
Prior to the April 19 release of the album, Miller and his band will play selections from the record along with his hits at the grand opening of the new multi-million dollar performance facility built for the Austin City Limits television show. The concert will be the first show of the program's upcoming season.
Miller will also be doing a series of theater and small-arena dates with Gregg Allman starting in mid-April. The following dates have been announced so far:
