Overview
The Scottish singer, who will appear as herself during the finale of the stage production I Dreamed A Dream, said she was 'thrilled' to be taking part.
The musical begins an 11 week tour in Newcastle in March 2012 and stars actress Elaine C Smith.
The 50-year-old said: 'I am thrilled to be a part of the musical about my life story and very much looking forward to stepping on stage and performing with the cast.
'It is an honest portrayal of my life and has been a cathartic process to be involved in.'
The show's musical producer Michael Harrison is excited about having Boyle involved with the production.
According to BBC News, he said: 'Susan continues to defy the odds and surprise the world with her record-breaking albums. I can't wait to see the audience reaction when she walks on stage.'
The show tells the story of Susan's journey from an unknown person to international megastar.
