Boyle, 49, filmed the video for her cover of Lou Reed's track Perfect Day on the top of a cliff looking over Loch Lomond in Scotland.
Stunt double Eleana Young stood in for her during the scenes as the weather conditions were so bad her management were concerned that the star might have an accident.
A pal of Boyle's said to UK newspaper Daily Record: 'It was filmed in some of the worst weather this year. Susan's managers simply couldn't take the risk that something terrible might happen to her up on that cliff.'
