I am always saying how Twitter is the new press release/celebrity publicist, since the messaging site is often the quickest and easiest way for artists and celebs to interact with fans and to reveal news, be it minute or of the blockbuster sort. In this case, it may have gotten an artist in some hot water! Motor City Madman Ted Nugent may have pissed all over South Dakota game laws by shooting pheasants after some of his hunting privileges were revoked in California. The Nuge, 61, makes no bones about the fact that he eats what he kills, but that doesn't mean that he has free reign to disobey gaming laws, which are put in place for a reason.
South Dakota honors other states' license revocations through the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact, and a state law doesn't differentiate between large game, such as deer, and small game, such as pheasant. Nugent's California hunting license was revoked on August 13 when he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges.
The Nuge took to Twitter to post that he was hunting pheasants on October 16 in the southwestern portion of South Dakota... which is how he was found out.
What is your stance on hunting?
