The Big Pink begin the new decade with single 'Velvet', this time set for a full commercial release on February 15th following its limited run in early 2009.
Crystallising a love of digital noise combined with an incredible soulfulness 'Velvet' was mixed by legendary producer Alan Moulder, whose previous work includes My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails and The Smashing Pumpkins.
The Big Pink will release 'Velvet' on February 15th 2010 on 12" and digital download and features a reworked version of 'Velvet' as well as a cover of the Otis Redding track 'These Arms Of Mine'.
The band have had a brilliant 2009; after appearing in the BBC Sounds poll, they quickly followed it up by winning the esteemed Philip Hall Radar Award at the NME Awards before heading to New York to record their debut album A Brief History Of Love. Released to much acclaim and featuring in numerous end-of-year lists, the band have toured extensively (including supporting Muse on their arena tour), made their debut TV appearance on Later... With Jools Holland and previous single 'Dominos' has spent nearly three months in the UK Top 40, after becoming a radio playlist staple and featuring on an Xbox commercial.
In February the band will join forces with The Maccabees, The Drums and Bombay Bicycle Club as part of the Shockwaves NME Awards tour.
