Crazy psych-rockers The Brian Jonestown Massacre have snuck a new song out on YouTube.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre, known as much for ringleader Anton Newcombe's outlandish behaviour as their hypnotic psychedelic odysseys, have previewed a new track from their forthcoming 15th studio album.
In keeping with his talent for smart-arse titles, 'Blue Order/New Monday' alludes to the '80s electro hit, and stretches over seven minutes.
The San Franciscan act's most recent coup, following the release of Who Killed Sgt Pepper? in 2010, was having their 1996 song 'Straight Up And Down' chosen as the theme for HBO series Boardwalk Empire.
The next album will be titled Aufheben, and Newcombe states on YouTube that "it's in the pipeline – 30th April – Europe & the rest of the world. 1st May – North America or when world peace is declared.whichever one comes first i believe."
Check out all seven minutes and thirty seconds of 'Blue Order/New Monday', and a glimpse of the new cover art, below.
