The Charlatans and Start Productions are proud to announce the release of 'Mountain Picnic Blues' on DVD on May 13th 2013.
The film is a documentary on The Charlatans' 1997 LP Tellin' Stories, from its creation in 1997 to the 15th anniversary of the album this year. The bonus cd features a live performance of the album recorded this year at Glasgow's Barrowlands.
Featuring the hit singles 'One To Another' and 'North Country Boy', the LP was a number one hit and a creative high point for the band. The record's creation however was overshadowed by the tragic death ofkeyboard player Rob Collins. The documentary features interviews with all band members and tells the story of the circumstances surrounding the album's recording and completion in the aftermath of Rob's death and also how they then handled their support slot shortly afterwards with Oasis at Knebworth in front of 210,000 people.
The band's online store will be the ONLY site to offer a deluxe, limited edition DVD package which includes bespoke designs, exclusive unreleased photographs on tour with the band in 1997 and a random limited number will be fully signed by the band. For your chance to WIN a signed copy, keep checking the band's website, Facebook and Twitter sites.
The Charlatans will be holding a couple of screenings in London and Manchester during the week of release. A limited number of tickets will be available to purchase more information to follow.
