The Cult's Ian Astbury has sparked the fires of the rampant speculation that Led Zeppelin plan a full out reunion tour next year. Guess who is going to open the tour? Astbury told fans during a show last weekend that the tour was happening.
MTV.com says that Astbury told the crowd, "We'll be back next year because we're opening for a band you may have heard of ... the name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it." After a fan shouted, "Led Zeppelin," Astbury nodded and raised his arm in the air.
In other Zeppelin news, Jimmy Page says the band will play a new song during their London concert. "There's one number that we rehearsed, I assume that it will make it to the Dome (the former name for the O2), that we never played at any point in time. It dates from when the band was together between 1968 and 1980. It's a really intense number."
