The Cure are set to play a one off UK gig next year. The legendary goth pleasers will take to the Wembley Arena stage on 20th March 2008.
Formed in Sussex in 1976, with the ever present Robert Smith at the helm, familiar for his wild hair and smudged vivid lipstick, the band has seen a multitude of line up changes over the years. In the late 70's as tour support to Siouxsie and the Banshees, Smith appeared for both bands when the Banshees guitarist John McKay quit mid tour.
For the show, the band will be delving into their extensive back catalogue which boasts 12 albums in a thirty year existence. In addition, they'll be re-releasing a DVD in early December called Festival 2005, and will feature band footage filmed by a both crew members and fans.
Gig tickets go on sale on Saturday 29th September.
