The Darkness's debut album 'Permission to land' has reached gold status in America.
The album has sold over 500,000 copies in the States, and much of their forthcoming tour of the country is sold out, reports the BBC
The band, who have sold 1.2 million copies of the album in the UK, also reached number two in the Napster and Apple iTunes download chart with single 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love'.
