Justin Hawkins says The Darkness are finding it hard to write new material.
He revealed fans will have to wait until at least September before it is released.
He said: "The second album has been a lot more painstaking than the first. We have only done a couple of songs."
The album is also behind because Justin has spent hours attending sittings for a waxwork dummy of him to be made.
Justin said he was delighted with the £50,000 figure reports The Sun.
Justin's waxwork is next to a new interactive "air guitar" attraction. It lets people try their hand at miming guitar to a series of The Darkness tracks.
