The Darkness will embark on a work tour in 2012, singer Justin Hawkins has announced.
The band, who reformed earlier this year following a five-year break, will headline the Download festival in June, before the release of a new album.
In an interview with Q magazine, Hawkins said: "There'll probably be a The Darkness album in 2012, but somehow we'll get new music out before then.
“A UK tour at the end of that year and then the world. Again."
The Darkness are also set to play a host of warm-up gigs, including a performance London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on June 8.
