The Eagles have been selected as the greatest American rock band, according to a readers' poll conducted by The Florida Times-Union.
The paper set up a 64-band tournament with brackets along the lines of the NCAA basketball tourney, only with American rock bands instead of teams.
Readers from across the country were allowed to vote. After six rounds of voting, The Eagles beat out Creedence Clearwater Revival to take the title.
