Xfm Manchester celebrated its second birthday in style on Wednesday at legendary live music venue Night and Day in the city's Northern Quarter.
The party was attended exclusively by two hundred Xfm competition winners and saw intimate live performances from The Enemy, ahead of their two massive sold out nights at the Apollo next week, and rising local bands Twisted Wheel and Lowline.
Two years since its launch, not content with playing just the best in indie rock, Xfm has provided a platform for upcoming talent. The station has put on a variety of events such as X-Posure Live and Winter Wonderland, having invited both local talent and acts from around the world to showcase their sounds at a series of immensely successful gigs.
The second birthday party saw Stockport-based band Lowline, a favourite of Xfm DJ Clint Boon, open the celebrations with 'Last Chance'. Described by Tom Clarke of the Enemy as 'the best new band in the country', the boys said they were honoured to kick-start the event with their unique atmospheric and intense sound.
