The Four Tops and Temptations announce Greatest Hits Tour with Very Special Guests The Drifters and Three Degrees.
The Four Tops and The Temptations were two of the groups who helped define the Motown Sound of the 1960s.
Following success of The Temptations' recent UK Top Ten album, Classic Soul Hits, they promise an unforgettable show full of chart toppers including "My Girl", "Get Ready" and "Ball of Confusion". Founder member Otis Williams will be joined by Terry Weeks, Ron Tyson, Joe Herndon and Bruce Williamson who, between them, have 93 years as Temptations.
The Four Tops were responsible for the single "Reach Out and I'll be There"; A Number One selling single on both sides of the Atlantic, and one of the most memorable songs of the 1960's. Their show will feature this, and a plethora of their other hits including "Walk Away Renee" "I Can't Help Myself" and "Loco in Acapulco". The Four Tops line-up didn't change for four decades until Lawrence Payton died in 1997, and for this tour the line-up will be founder Abdul "Duke" Fakir" Theo Peoples, Lewis McNeir and Roquel "Rokie" Payton, son of Lawrence Payton.
Otis and Duke say "We love coming to tour in the UK, the audiences are the best in the world. We're really looking forward to returning along with the Drifters and The Three Degrees for this Greatest Hits Tour."
The Drifters are one of the biggest-selling bands of all time with a catalogue of over 50 hits including "Saturday Night at the Movies", "Come on Over to My Place" and "Kissing in the Back Row". George Treadwell created the group under the guidance of the late Ahmet Ertegun, founder of Atlantic Records and the line-up has featured over 60 different singers including icons such as Clyde McPhatter, Ben E King and Johnny Moore. Their current album is Five Decades and Moore. The Drifters current line up is Maurice Cannon, Steve V King, Michael Williams and Damion Charles.
Four decades after forming, The Three Degrees can claim to be the longest running female group in history. Still looking as glamorous as ever in their stunning costumes, they continue to wow audiences worldwide. Widely renowned as Prince Charles's favourite group they even attended Charles and Diana's wedding reception. The show will feature all their biggest hits including "When Will I See You Again", "Dirty Ol' Man" and "Take Good Care of Yourself".
The Three Degrees are Helen Scott, Valerie Holiday and Cynthia Garrison.
