The Grates have opened a tea room in Brisbane and former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has tweeted that he'll drop in.
On May 17, Brisbane power-poppers The Grates tweeted that they're opening a "tea room and bar" in the eastern Brisbane suburb of Morningside.
When they confirmed the exact address today, 639 Wynnum Rd, tweeter Charlie Akerly (@tinyproblem) noted that they're right near the office of former Prime Minister, now Foreign Minister, Kevin Rudd.
So The Grates invited him via twitter, and @KRuddMP replied, "@thegrates @tinyproblem Love to. But I'm in Canberra. All the best for the business. KRudd".
Then The Grates made the open invitation, "@KRuddMP @tinyproblem Thanks Kevin! Well when you're back in town we're standing up for the southside across the road at Southside Tea Room."
And Rudd confirmed he'll drop in, "@thegrates @tinyproblem thanks. Will call in. Maybe Friday. KRudd"
Surely the invite extends to any other visitors to Brisbane, former Prime Minister or not. It's Southside Tea Room, 639 Wynnum Rd, Morningside.
