The Jesus And Mary Chain are set to play a Dublin show this month. Full dates and ticket details are below.
The band announced their reformation in April this year and are operating under Creation Records' management arm and have a healthy number of gigs coming up.
The influential shoegazey jangle pop band will follow their appearance at Vicar Street in Dublin on July 31 with a show at Off festival in Poland on August 2 before embarking on a a UK tour in November.
The November tour will mark the 30th anniverary of their seminal album Psychocandy. The album still ranks in the best album of all time list. The band, however, didn't set out to fit into and preset model. They were true visionarees and carved out a niche of their own. Jim Reid of the band said: "'Psychocandy' was meant to be a kick in the teeth to all of those who stood in our way at the time, which was practically the whole music industry."
"In 1985 there were a great many people who predicted no more than a six-month life span for the Mary Chain. To celebrate the approaching 30th anniversary of the album, we would like to perform it in its entirety. We will also perform key songs from that period that did not feature on the album."
