Brandon Flowers, Wayne Coyne and Brian Wilson are among the artists who will pay tribute to George Harrison for a one night tribute concert.
According to Consequence Of Sound, George Fest: A Night to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison will take place on 28 September at the El Rey theatre in Los Angeles and will feature performances by Brandon Flowers, Brian Wilson, Wayne Coyne, Weird Al Yankovic, Norah Jones, members of the Strokes and Weezer as well as Cold War Kids and Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club. Further special guests have also been promised.
100% of profits from “George Fest” will benefit Sweet Relief, a charity that offers financial assistance to struggling musicians. Tickets will go on sale at 5pm UK time today.
George Harrison: The Apple Years 1968-1975, a lavish box set of the late Beatles work featuring his first six solo abums, is set to be released on 23 September.
