Speaking exclusively to Xfm, rock duo The Kills' first lady Alison Mosshart gives an insight into their new album 'Midnight Boom'.
"I'm so happy with the the record, but it was such a long journey getting the final result. Along the way we wrote three records, went broke and fled to Mexico somewhere in the middle of figuring it all out."
And turning to the title itself 'Midnight Boom' she continued, "It means the evening, from midnight to 6am. That's the glory time of creativity and secrecy... the hours we were keeping throughout the writing process."
As for the themes and inspirations behind the record?
"A lot of it was inspired by my inner city playground songs, seven year olds jumping rope and hand clapping games."
'Midnight Boom' is released on March 18.
