The Libertines and Wolf Alice will be the acts to beat at the 2016 NME Awards after landing six nominations apiece.
Pete Doherty's reunited band and the indie rockers will go head-to-head for some of the biggest prizes at the prizegiving, including Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Track, Best Music Video and Best Fan Community.
The Libertines are also up for Music Moment of The Year for their secret set at the Glastonbury festival in June (15), while Wolf Alice's sixth nod comes in the Best Album category, pitting them against the likes of The Maccabees, Kendrick Lamar, Tame Impala, Grimes and Foals, who have picked up four nominations.
The My Number group are also up for Best British Band with The 1975, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and The Maccabees, and will also compete for Best Album, Best Live Band, and Best Track.
Other multiple nominees include The Maccabees, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, Tame Impala, Adele and Taylor Swift.
Polarising rapper Kanye West is up for both Villain and Hero of the Year, going up against Swift, Adele, Grohl, politician Jeremy Corbyn and Florence Welch in the Hero category. The hip-hop star will also vie for the less popular Villain accolade against U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron, Simon Cowell and U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, Australian rockers 5 Seconds of Summer will get the chance to retain their Worst Band title, after claiming the dishonour earlier this year (15). They're up against One Direction, Little Mix, Sleaford Mods, U2 and Nickelback.
Meanwhile, in the NME's film categories, stars such as Daniel Radcliffe, Eddie Redmayne and Idris Elba will compete for the Best Actor prize, while Jennifer Lawrence, Emilia Clarke and Amy Schumer are among the nominees in the Best Actress category.
All the winners will be announced during a ceremony at London's O2 Academy Brixton on 17 February (16).
