Wayne Hussey, frontman and founding member of The Mission has announced that the band will be taking a sabbatical after their four London gigs in February 2008.
In a statement, Wayne said "I've had to deliberate long and hard about this so I've taken my time as this hasn't come as an easy decision for me to make. I love this band and have spent the best part of my adulthood dedicated to the cause. However, I do think it's time for me to try something else."
Over the years, The Mission released 9 studio albums (the latest being the acclaimed God Is A Bullet), selling in excess of 4 million records worldwide and racked up 14 Top 40 UK hits.
