Today The Ordinary Boys marked their return with new song 'Awkward', ahead of their UK tour starting next month.
Awkward' is the first song from the Ordinary Boys since teaming up with Louis Jones from celebrated power-pop band Spectrals. Singer, Preston, currently enjoys a successful career as a songwriter for artists including John Newman and Chloe Howl, and earned a number one with Heart Skips a Beat for Olly Murs.
After reuniting with the James and Charlie from our critically acclaimed debut Over the Counter Culture we played a one-off, last-minute sweaty, sold-out show at 'Birthdays' and went into Lighthouse95 with Rory Attwell who produced The Vaccines, Veronica Falls and Palma Violets.
They booked a UK tour which begins next month in Manchester where we will be showcasing the new material and playing some old favourites. The band is currently in the studio with MJ from Hookworms recording more songs for an album to be released early next year.
Awkward, on which Louis and Preston share vocal duties, is a taster of things to come. "It's a glorious hymn to saying the right thing in the wrong way, a bittersweet pop punk paean to messing things up. We think it's pretty special."
