The Polyphonic Spree return this summer with their second album “Together We're Heavy†and a special London live show. The band, who lit up 2003 with debut “The Beginning Stages Of†and some of the best live shows of the year, release the album through their own Good Records imprint on July 12th.
The Polyphonic Spree were one of the stories of last year, starting the year with a co-headline slot with The Datsuns on the NME Awards tour, winning the NME's “Award for Innovation†at that year's ceremony, appearing on CD:UK when unsigned following their departure from 679 Recordings and headlining a sold out Brixton Academy on 4th July. From their first performance at David Bowie's Meltdown in June of 2002, regarded by The Guardian as evidence of a “truly unique bandâ€, The Polyphonic Spree broke the rules (playing London's Monarch when all said it couldn't be done, holding
impromptu choir practice in tube trains on the way to photo shoots) and reminded the
world that pop music should be fun.
