Having just celebrated their biggest headlining show at the London Mean Fiddler (August 10), The Rakes are set help mark freshers week in style by signing up for the Club NME Tour, supported by Topman.
The boozy brain-boxes who released their debut album ‘Capture/Release' yesterday (August 15), will be playing shows at Club NMEs across the land to tie in with the beginning of term, and are looking forward to revisiting student life.
“We're looking forward to the tour. The libraries will be open won't they?†asked guitarist Matthew Swinnerton. â€People have this impression of us as a boozy band, that's why I have to mention libraries for once â€" we're not always in the pub.â€
However The Rakes admitted they're looking forward to gate-crashing a few Freshers Week balls. “It's cheap booze, innit?†declared Swinnerton. “So it's always good!â€
