The Rolling Stones Australian tour is setting new records for ticket sales across the country.
Perth's two-night stand generated $9.8 million in sales, according to Billboard. Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena show pulled in $4.8 million in sales, making both events the highest grossing concerts of 2014 in each city.
The outdoor show at Adelaide Oval generated $8.9 million in sales alone. The cancelled Hanging Rock show would have generated around $9 million in sales. The show has not been rescheduled and all monies have been refunded.
The Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne shows generated $23,592,983 from 92,095 ticket sales, according to Billboard. That is an average of $256 per ticket. A similar figure is expected when Sydney, Hunter Valley and Brisbane are added in.
The next Rolling Stones show is Tuesday, November 18 in Brisbane.
