The Script don't hang out with famous 'd***heads who think they are better than everyone else'.
The Irish 'For The First Time' group say they avoid celebrity and because they are a band of 'ordinary blokes' and they don't mind if that means some people think they are boring.
Guitarist Danny Sheehan said: 'We're ordinary blokes who don't want to hang around with a load of d***heads who think they are better than everyone else.
'So we go to pubs with real people and don't pretend to be anything we're not. I've watched bands say they're downing vodka onstage when it's just water. We'd rather be honest.
'We're happy to admit we make pop music because we know we do it really well.'
The band ' who have recently chart success in the US, following their achievements in Europe ' also hold an unlikely chart record for their song 'Breakeven', which made number one in the Adult Contemporary chart in America, although they're not sure how valuable it is.
Singer Danny O'Donohue added: 'We hold the record for the longest-climbing single in any US chart. We stole it from Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars'.
'Mind you, I'm not sure 'slowest climber' is much of an accolade.'
The group ' which also includes Glen Power ' are presently on tour in Europe.
